Full-Time Programme

 

The Full-Time Programme begins with 5-weeks of training in either Canada or the U.S., after which new analysts will join the London office in August. The London I&CB team focuses exclusively on the Energy and Metals & Mining sectors, offering clients M&A advisory, corporate broking, capital raising, lending and risk management services. Analysts will immediately work alongside senior banking professionals, providing the opportunity to gain unparalleled experience and exposure to the intricacies of the investment banking business.

 

Summer Internship Programme

 

The Summer Internship Programme is a 10-week programme that will be of interest to those individuals seeking practical, hands-on experience in a dynamic investment and corporate banking environment prior to completing a university degree. As a Summer Analyst you will be staffed on pitches and live transactions immediately.

 

The objective of this program is to identify exceptional candidates for Full-Time Analyst positions at BMO Capital Markets upon graduation. As such, select Summer Analysts may be given offers for full-time employment at the completion of the Summer Internship Programme.

The Analyst program is a 2-3 year program that will be of interest to those individuals seeking practical, hands-on experience in a dynamic investment and corporate banking environment prior to pursuing a post-graduate degree. Analysts gain valuable exposure to a number of industries and financial products. Select individuals who display exceptional competence and maturity may be offered a promotion to Associate at the end of their analyst tenure.

Requirements

 

This position is open to candidates in their final year of undergraduate studies. Investment & Corporate Banking Associate

 

Job Description

 

Investment banking associates manage key aspects of client transactions. Associates work in either a specific product group, with exposure to a variety of different industries, or a specific industry group, with exposure to a variety of financial products. These products may include public and private debt, equity financings, mergers and acquisitions and financial advisory services.

Sales & Trading: Analyst/Associate

 

Job Description

 

Our Trading Products Rotational Program is designed to provide a perspective on responsibilities and opportunities within our Sales & Trading business. Competition for this program is intense, and successful candidates will become part of a team of highly qualified professionals.

 

Analysts and associates rotate through various trading and sales desks over a 12 - 16 month period, gaining exposure to a wide variety of products and services. The program combines on-the-job learning with meaningful work experience, direct exposure to industry professionals, and opportunities in various parts of BMO Capital Markets.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Market research and analysis
  • Data manipulation and spreadsheets, including VBA
  • Developing presentation materials
  • Providing client contact support as necessary

 

Requirements

 

The Rotational program is open to those completing an undergraduate (Analyst role) or graduate degree (Associate role). Preference is given to those completing a degree in a business or math related discipline. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who can work well in a team based environment. They must possess excellent research and analytical skills; superior data manipulation and spreadsheet skills including VBA: be detail- and results-oriented; have a demonstrated knowledge of financial markets and general knowledge of financial strategy, accounting, economic capital management principles and analysis.


Co-op Program

 

We run a Co-op Program in Canada, during the fall and winter academic terms. Similar to the Summer Internship Program, co-op students work closely with full-time analysts and associates to assist in a variety of analyses and workflows.

 

While not required, these programs are often viewed as an initial step for securing a full time opportunity with BMO Capital Markets.

Summer Investment & Corporate Banking Analyst

 

Job Description

 

Summer Analysts are assigned to a specific Investment & Corporate Banking product or industry group during the three-four month program. In addition to this on-the-job experience, the program includes the opportunity to network across various business groups, getting to know BMO Capital Markets, training and learning seminars, and dedicated mentors. The program is considered an initial interviewing step for the full time BMO Capital Markets Investment and Corporate Banking Development Program.

The Summer Analyst program is designed for candidates between their third and fourth undergraduate years. We seek highly motivated individuals with strong analytical and communication skills, integrity, and a commitment to excellence. Additionally, BMO Capital Markets desires candidates who display exceptional leadership in extracurricular activities. Preference will be given to those students with a concentration in an undergraduate degree in finance, math, accounting, engineering, economics or statistics.


Summer Investment & Corporate Banking Associate

 

Job Description

 

The Summer Associate program is a three-four month program that will be of interest to those individuals seeking practical, hands-on experience in a dynamic investment and corporate banking environment (corporate and government finance, mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt capital markets, and project and leveraged financing) prior to completing an MBA. Summer associates participate on a wide variety of client transaction teams on public underwritings, mergers and acquisitions projects, and other advisory engagements.

 

The objective of this program is to identify exceptional candidates for full-time positions at BMO Capital Markets upon graduation. As such, select Summer Associates may be offered a full-time Associate position, contingent upon meeting certain requirements relating to the completion of an MBA.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Analysis of financial and capital market information, valuations, financing alternatives, and capital structures.
  • Various tasks associated with taking an active role in the execution of transactions and in the preparation and marketing of proposals to corporate clients.

 

Requirements

 

This position is open to candidates in the first year of their MBA program. We seek highly motivated individuals with strong analytical and communication skills, integrity, and a commitment to excellence. Summer Sales & Trading Analyst

 

Job Description

 

The Sales & Trading Summer Analyst program is a three-four month program that will be of interest to those individuals seeking practical, hands-on experience. Sales & Trading Summer Analysts work in the Trading Products Group of BMO Capital Markets, comprised of global fixed income, currency and commodities (FICC), Global Equity Products & Research (Equity), Global Structured Products (GSP) and Cross Business Risk, serving our corporate, institutional and government clients. The summer intern program is a 12 - 16 week program compromised of two 6 - 8 week rotations.

 

The objective of this program is to identify exceptional candidates for full-time Analyst positions at BMO Capital Markets upon graduation. As such, select Summer Analysts may be given offers for a second internship or a full-time employment at the completion of the summer term.

These assignments will vary widely from day to day and may include developing presentation materials using MS PowerPoint and MS Excel, fielding client phone inquiries regarding booked trades, and providing other client contact support as necessary.
