March 2013		BMO Capital Markets Foreign Exchange Group Wins Three Awards from the China Foreign Exchange Trade System
		BMO Capital Markets, the investment & corporate banking arm of BMO Financial Group (TSX/NYSE: BMO) has received honours in three categories in the China Foreign Exchange Trade System (CFETS) rating of market makers. The BMO Capital Markets Foreign Exchange Group was named the Best Spot Market Maker, Most Popular Market Maker and Best G7 Market Maker. In addition to the group awards, individual awards for Best Trader were given to Regine Ou and Ross Liu, members of the BMO foreign exchange team in Guangzhou. The CFETS awards identify the best market makers, best member banks, best trading heads and best traders by monitoring key indicators in the trading system, such as client coverage, market making ability and response time.

December 2012		BMO Capital Markets named Equity House of the Year, Canada
		BMO Capital Markets has been named Equity House of the Year, Canada by Thomson Reuters' International Financing Review (IFR) in the 2012 Americas Review of the Year. "In an unusually consolidated market, one bank has managed to separate itself from the competition - not because of the size of its balance sheet, but thanks to its overall investment banking platform. For consistent success in leading large transactions for key clients, BMO Capital Markets is deserving of IFR's Canada Equity House of the Year," said Stephen Lacey, US Editor, IFR. Award winners were selected by a senior editorial team from IFR that evaluated how financial institutions have adapted to the trends driving economic activity, the noteworthiness of deal rosters, and achievement of strategic goals.

October 2012		BMO Capital Markets named M&A Investment Banker of the Year in the Americas
		BMO Capital Markets has been named M&A Investment Banker of the Year in the Americas at Global M&A Network's 2012 M&A Atlas Awards. BMO was also recognized with two deal awards at the ceremony: Deal of the Year \| Canada (Middle Markets, $5 - $250 million) for our role as Financial Advisor to Resolute Forest Products in its acquisition of Fibrek Inc. Deal of the Year \| Canada (Large Mid Markets, $250 million +) for our role advising Gaz Métro Inc. with its acquisition of Central Vermont Public Services Corporation. The awards honor outstanding firms, top deals and influential dealmakers from the North American and South American mergers, acquisitions, corporate and private equity deal communities.

October 2012		BMO Capital Markets earns designation in equity lending survey
		BMO Capital Markets has been named One to Watch, Americas by Global Investor/ISF Magazine. The annual survey of global equity borrowers acknowledged BMO for equity borrowing across all service categories, including: relationship management; pricing; and market capability. The survey recognizes the top global equity borrowers in various geographical regions across the world.

September 2012		Interest Rate Derivatives Team named leader in Greenwich Report
		BMO Capital Markets has been named a leader in a number of categories in the 2012 Greenwich Associates report on Canadian Interest Rate Derivatives: Of note, BMO Capital Markets achieved the following rankings: #1 in Estimated Market Share #1 in Share of Volume / "Customer Wallet" #1 in First Call for An Important Trade #1 in Execution of Large Trades #1 in Best Executable Bids and Offers for Swaps less than 2 years 2nd in Sales Representative Rankings 2nd in Most Creative Ideas 2nd in Best Executable Bids and Offers for Swaps greater than 2 years Greenwich Associates assigned the designations based on interviews with leading investor, financial and government fixed income derivative users, and compared 19 dealers.

August 2012		BMO Capital Markets selected as 2012 Quality & Share Leader in fixed income
		For 2012, BMO Capital Markets has been selected in the Greenwich Associates Survey as Share Leader for Overall Canadian Fixed-Income Market Share (ranked 2nd), and Quality Leader for Canadian Fixed-Income Research Quality. Greenwich Associates selected the leaders based on in-person interviews with 114 institutional fixed-income investors in Canada, conducted between February and March 2012. Interview topics included service provider assessments, market trend analysis, and investor compensation.

July 2012		BMO Capital Markets earns top spot and Best in Class recognition for Prime Brokerage capabilities
		BMO Capital Markets has recently been recognized for its Prime Brokerage business and has earned the top spot in Canada for its capital introduction capabilities by Global Custodian Magazine. BMO also ranked in Canada as "Best in Class" in 10 out of 12 categories, earning scores consistently higher than last year. Some of the categories in which BMO was recognized as Best in Class include: Client service Operations Financing and margining Securities lending Reporting Technology The survey, now in its 19th year, honours the best firms by measuring the perceptions of clients on the quality of services provided to them by their prime brokers.

July 2012		BMO Capital Markets named "Best Investment Bank" in Canada
		BMO Capital Markets has been named "Best Investment Bank" in Canada by World Finance Magazine at their 2012 Banking Awards. The awards recognize industry leaders, eminent individuals, exemplary teams and distinguished organisations believed to represent the benchmark of achievement and best practice in a variety of fields.

June 2012		BMO Capital Markets earns two awards for its Structured Product business
		On June 19, BMO Capital Markets Structured Products business earned the designation "Best Overall Provider in Canada" and "Best Product Performance in Canada for GICs" from Euromoney's Institutional Investor PLC's online division, StructuredRetailProducts.com. The awards honour the best buy-side and sell-side firms from across the Structured Product industry as well as highlighting the best index providers, law firms and tech companies. Winners are selected by a poll of industry participants and clients.

June 2012		BMO Capital Markets named "Best Trade Bank in Canada" for third consecutive year
		For the third consecutive year, BMO Capital Markets, the investment and corporate banking arm of BMO Financial Group (NYSE, TSX:BMO), has been named the Best Trade Bank in Canada by Trade Finance magazine. The annual survey ranks firms on the basis of industry votes and feedback from Canadian participants, as well as input from the magazine's editorial team. BMO ranked among the top three for two other categories: Best Overall Trade Bank in North America and Best Trade & Supply Chain Bank in North America. 		The American Business Awards named the BMO Capital Markets Global Metals & Mining Conference the Best Live Event for 2012. The Awards recognize outstanding achievements in all industries worldwide.

May 2012		BMO Capital Markets wins two "Best" Foreign Exchange awards
		BMO Capital Markets has won two more awards for its Foreign Exchange franchise, having been named "Best Foreign Exchange Bank in North America" by Dealmakers Monthly and "Best Forex Provider in China," by Global Banking and Finance Review. This marks the second consecutive year BMO Capital Markets has won each award. The DealMakers Monthly awards recognize leading professional firms from across the globe in their area of specialization. Award recipients are determined from the feedback received on more than 24,000 survey responses. March 2012		BMO Capital Markets named "Best Foreign Exchange Bank in North America" by Dealmakers Monthly
		BMO Capital Markets has been named the Best Foreign Exchange Bank in North America by DealMakers Monthly, for the second year in a row. The DealMakers Country Awards recognize leading professional firms from across the globe in their area of specialization. Recipients are determined from over 24,000 responses to an electronic readers' survey.

February 2012		BMO Capital Markets earns six Quality Leader designations from Greenwich Associates
		BMO Capital Markets earned six Quality Leader designations for 2011 from Greenwich and Associates: Canadian Equity Capital Markets Quality Canadian Equity Research and Analyst Service Quality Canadian Equity Sales Quality Canadian Equity Trading Quality Canadian Fixed-Income Research Quality Canadian Mergers and Acquisitions Quality Greenwich Associates assigned the designations based on interviews with more than 200 corporate clients, 100 equity fund managers and equity traders, and more than 100 institutional and fixed income investors in Canada.

		For the second time in three years, BMO Capital Markets has been named the Best Investment Bank in Canada by Global Finance Magazine. BMO Capital Markets also received this award in 2008. Global Finance editors, with input from industry experts, used a series of criteria to select the winners. The criteria includes market share, number and size of deals, service and advice, structuring capabilities, distribution network, efforts to address market conditions, innovation, pricing, after-market performance of underwritings and market reputation. Deals announced or completed in 2011 were considered.

November 2011		BMO Capital Markets named "2011 Best Bank for the Canadian Dollar" by FX Week Magazine
		For the second time in three years, BMO Capital Markets has been named the Best Bank for the Canadian Dollar by FX Week Magazine. BMO Capital Markets also received this award in 2009. The winners of the FX Week Best Bank Awards are determined by votes from foreign exchange professionals from around the world, and are presented each year in London. In this year's survey, respondents from banks, corporate treasurers and investors, including fund managers, institutional investors and hedge funds, nominated their preferred banks, brokers and vendors in 39 categories. September 2011		BMO Capital Markets earns International M&A Award
		BMO Capital Markets has won an International M&A Award from The M&A Advisor for its role in a complicated transaction that saw AtomRedMetZoloto (ARMZ), the Russian state uranium mining company, increase its ownership in Uranium One from ~19.9% to ~51%. The BMO Capital Markets team developed an innovative structure to execute this transaction and balance competing objectives. The final outcome was a significant win for all the parties involved, and enabled Uranium One to take its place among the world's Top 5 uranium producers.

March 2011		BMO Capital Markets Foreign Exchange Group Garners Global Recognition with Three Awards
		BMO Capital Markets has won several awards for its global leadership in foreign exchange. The firm was named the "Best Foreign Exchange (Forex) Provider, North America 2011" by Global Banking & Finance Review. The firm also won the DealMakers Global Award for "Best FX Bank North America, 2011." January 2011		BMO Capital Markets Economics places in Top 10 of Reuters 2010 Foreign Exchange Accuracy Poll
		BMO Capital Markets Economics placed within the Top 10 of global banks and ahead of all other Canadian banks in the 2010 Reuters Foreign Exchange accuracy poll. The annual poll analyzes the accuracy of the contributors based on how closely their one-month forecasts compare with the actual closing rates on the last trading day of each month. BMO moved to 10th place, up from 13th in 2009, out of more than 50 banks in total. This is a significant achievement that reinforces BMO Capital Markets as a trusted and accurate advisor.

November 2010		FX Group Earns Top 20 Global Ranking from FX Week
		BMO Capital Markets has been ranked among the top 20 FX banks globally in the 2010 FX Week magazine client survey. The rankings were based on more than 7,000 responses from dealers, brokers, investors and corporations. BMO finished 20th overall, which represents the firm's best finish ever in the survey (ranked 25th last year). BMO Capital Markets also ranked first with corporate clients, second for the Canadian dollar, and second with both investor and bank clients. These results are a reflection of the firm's intense client focus and ability to effectively compete on the global stage.

October 2010		BMO Capital Markets Named Best FX Bank in North America
		European CEO Magazine has named BMO Capital Markets the "Best Foreign Exchange [FX] Bank, Canada & North America" (October/November 2010 issue). The criteria for choosing the winners included transaction volume, market share, scope of global coverage, customer service, competitive pricing and innovative technologies. This award truly underscores BMO's commitment to continued expansion into global FX markets.

September 2010		BMO Capital Markets Economics Wins Award for Forecasting Accuracy
		Dr. Sherry Cooper and the BMO Capital Markets Economics team have won the Lawrence R. Klein Award for economic forecasting accuracy. The team beat out nearly 50 other top North American economic forecasters for having the most accurate forecasts as part of the Blue Chip Economic Indicators survey from 2006 to 2009. The W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University sponsors and judges the award, which is one of the best-known and longest-standing awards in the profession.

June 2010		BMO Capital Markets Named Best Trade Bank in Canada
		Trade Finance Magazine has awarded BMO Capital Markets the "Best Trade Bank in Canada" Award for Excellence. The annual awards are based on industry votes and feedback as well as input from the magazine's editorial team. The win recognizes our firm's in-depth knowledge of global markets and the work the Trade Finance team does to deliver effective solutions to our importing and exporting clients.

May 2010		BMO Capital Markets Wins Top Marks in Foreign Exchange from Euromoney Magazine
		BMO Capital Markets placed first in foreign exchange market share growth in Euromoney Magazine's 2010 annual survey. The report recognized BMO Capital Markets in two categories: "Most Improved Overall Market Share by Volume" and "Most Improved Market Share by Size over US$250 billion." The Euromoney FX survey is the benchmark measure for the FX industry, with results based on qualitative and quantitative responses from thousands of companies around the world.

March 2010		BMO Capital Markets Continues to Win FX Awards in China
		For the third year in a row, BMO was named one of the Most Popular Market Makers in China for 2009 by the China Foreign Exchange Trade System (CFETS). This award is determined by a popularity vote among market makers. As in previous years, BMO was the only foreign bank to have won this award. BMO was also awarded "Best non-USD Market Maker" for the third year running, and is the only bank to have won this award. In addition, three members of the Guangzhou branch were honoured with "Trader of the Year" awards.

February 2010		BMO Capital Markets wins 2010 Media Strategy Award for Investment Banking
		BMO Capital Markets was awarded the 2010 Journal of Financial Advertising & Marketing (JFAM) Award for "Best Media Strategy â€“ Investment Banking", in recognition of our 2009 weekly advertising campaign in The Wall Street Journal. This year's JFAM awards received dozens of entries from the world's leading financial services firms, and were judged by a panel of 30 leading experts in financial services marketing.

In this year's survey, nearly 7,000 respondents from banks, corporate treasurers and investors, including fund managers, institutional investors and hedge funds, nominated their preferred banks, brokers and vendors in 39 categories. The BMO Capital Markets FX group holds a dominant position in the Canadian-dollar foreign exchange market and is top-ranked by large hedge funds and pension funds for institutional liquidity and pricing capacity. 		BMO Capital Markets has been named the best foreign exchange bank in Canada by European CEO Magazine. The European CEO awards panel used a wide range of criteria for voters to consider, such as innovation, originality and quality of products, as well as proof of market development and excellence in client representation. BMO Capital Markets' Foreign Exchange Group is a team of nearly 100 professionals based in eight cities around the world from Beijing to Chicago. The FX group holds a dominant position in the Canadian-dollar foreign exchange market and is top-ranked by large hedge funds and pension funds for institutional liquidity and pricing capacity.

June 2009		BMO Capital Markets wins the "Best Live Event" category at the 2009 American Business Awards
		BMO Capital Markets was the winner in the "Best Live Event" category at the 2009 American Business Awards in New York. The firm won the award in recognition of our Global Metals and Mining Conference, which provides an unparalleled client experience for over 1,000 people from 21 countries. BMO Capital Markets was also a Finalist in three other categories at this year's awards: Best Marketing Department; Best Marketing Brochure (Global Metals & Mining brochure); and Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program (Equity Through Education). Also known as the "Stevie" awards, the American Business Awards competition is open to companies of all sizes, and in all sectors, across the United States. The 2009 awards drew a total of more than 2,500 entries, with the final winners round being judged by nearly a dozen high-profile business executives.

May 2009		BMO Capital Markets Wins Five B2B Advertising Awards from the Financial Communications Society (FCS) at its 15th Annual Portfolio Awards Gala
		BMO Capital Markets took home three silver awards for: ROI (Return on Investment); Out of Home, Single; and Interactive Media Campaign categories. We also received two bronze awards for: Multimedia, Campaign; and Print, Campaign categories. The awards were determined by a panel of 16 judges - all senior executives in Advertising and Financial Services. Over 500 individual pieces of creative work were evaluated from a who's who of financial services companies. Awards for 2008 were handed out in four categories: Corporate Image; Business to Business (B2B); Consumer Retail; and ROI.

May 2009		BMO Capital Markets and Harris Honored as Top Contributors for Chicago United Way
		Harris and BMO Capital Markets were recognized as a Top Ten contributor for the United Way Metro Chicago 2008 campaign. The firm was also honored with two awards: the Innovative Promotion Materials award which recognized the inventive marketing efforts that were employed to promote LIVE UNITED, and the Volunteerism Pillar award, which recognizes the company that best encourages and supports its employees' involvement through hands-on volunteerism.

May 2009		BMO Capital Markets analysts recognized in The Wall Street Journal Best on the Street Analyst Survey
		The Wall Street Journal's annual financial analyst ranking, "Best on the Street", reviews nearly 50 major industry groups, ranking the top analysts within each business segment. The stock pickers in each industry are ranked by their recommendation-performance scores for 2008. Four BMO Capital Markets analysts were recognized for their stock picking abilities in biotechnology; business and industrial services; household and personal products; and retailers: broadline and apparel.

April 2009		BMO Capital Markets places first for Equity Research in the 2009 Thomson Reuters StarMine Canadian analyst awards
		BMO Capital Markets placed first in the 2009 Thomson Reuters StarMine Canadian analyst awards. StarMine is an independent firm that measures the performance of analysts based on the returns of their stock picking recommendations and the accuracy of their earnings estimates. The 2009 awards apply to 2008 calendar-year performance and estimates for Canadian-based companies in 20 sectors. In an exceptionally volatile year, BMO Capital Markets won the award for Top Broker by collecting 17 individual awards. A full list of the winners can be found on the StarMine website.

March 2009		BMO Capital Markets Wins FX Awards in China
		BMO's Guangzhou branch was named "Most Popular Market Maker" in 2008 â€“ as determined by a popularity vote among market makers. The three runners up were all Chinese banks â€“ Industrial Bank of China, Bank of China and Bank of Communications. BMO was also named "Best Market Maker" for 2008. This award, which is determined by the China Foreign Exchange Trade System (CFETS), takes into account technical indices/indicators, market votes and scoring by regulators. BMO was the only foreign bank to win this award. In addition, BMO was the only bank to be awarded "Best non-USD Market Maker" in 2008, as we have the largest share of volume in non-USD CNY crosses.

February 2009		BMO Capital Markets wins 2008 Media Strategy Award for Investment Banking
		BMO Capital Markets was awarded the 2008 Media Strategy Award for Investment Banking by the Journal of Financial Advertising & Marketing (JFAM). The finalists in the Investment Banking category were BMO Capital Markets, UBS and Standard Chartered. The judging panel was made up of senior marketers from over three dozen financial services companies and agencies.

December 2008		2008 Brendan Wood International Survey — BMO ranked #1 for 28th consecutive year
		BMO Capital Markets placed first overall in Canadian Equity Research for the 28th consecutive year. BMO was selected as "Top Research Department" by a large margin, with our analysts ranked number one in nine industry sectors, more than any other dealer. BMO had 16 all-star analyst teams, where we ranked first, second or third in the 32 sectors evaluated. We were also ranked first by institutional investors in the categories of Best Morning Notes and Best Website. BMO was ranked first for Overall Quality of Trader Service and received first-place rankings in every trading category measured by the survey, including: penetration of traders (most citations); effectiveness in execution; contribution to investment knowledge; putting client interests first; personal chemistry with the trader; and impact of trader service on commissions paid to the firm. BMO was ranked #2 (top bank-owned dealer) for Overall Quality of Sales Team. In addition, we were ranked first for arranging meetings with management and analysts. Our entire equity sales, trading and research team was ranked first overall for reputational franchise - a score that was at a significantly higher level than all of our competitors.

October 2008		BMO Capital Markets Named Best Investment Bank in Canada
		Global Finance magazine named BMO Capital Markets the best investment bank in Canada for 2008. Global Finance editors made the selection based on criteria that included market share, number and size of deals, key capabilities and services offered, innovation in financing and new product information, competitive pricing and after-market performance of underwritings. Deals announced or completed in the last three quarters of 2007 and first half of 2008 were considered.

September 2008		The BMO Capital Markets Equity Through Education program nets award for philanthropy
		The Journal of Financial Advertising & Marketing (JFAM) chose BMO Capital Markets' Equity Through Education initiative to win the inaugural "Strategic Philanthropy Award" for best program in financial services. In winning this award, Equity Through Education beat the charitable programs of more than 20 other financial institutions, including Merrill Lynch, American Express and Citigroup. The editorial board at JFAM selected Equity Through Education for achieving strategic corporate goals while meeting the philanthropic needs of a wide range of charities. The Equity Through Education program commits one day's worth of the institutional equity trading commissions we earn in Canada and the U.S. to organizations that help bright, deserving people realize their educational ambitions.

May 2008		BMO Capital Markets Takes Top Honours at New York Advertising Awards Gala
		The Financial Communications Society Portfolio Awards gave BMO Capital Markets best-in-show honours in the Multicultural category for its "Ambitions This Big" ad. The FCS Portfolio Awards received over 370 entries in 2008. The entries were judged by a panel of 18 corporate marketing and advertising agency executives. Also receiving best-in-show awards were American Express and Barclays.
