What is investment banking? |
| A. |
Investment banking is the business of raising capital for corporations, governments and investors. When companies need money to expand or grow, they turn to investment banks to help them raise capital. Examples include mergers and acquisitions (where bankers help negotiate and structure a merger between two companies), getting credit to build an additional warehouse, and organizing an initial public offering for a company.
