BMO Capital Markets sponsors a three-day Shadow Program that gives interested juniors at select universities the opportunity to learn about entry-level positions in investment and corporate banking. We encourage qualified students to interview for this program during our campus visits.

Successful candidates join us for three days in January, meeting a variety of BMO Capital Markets professionals and learning about the various roles and career paths available. To experience elements of the analyst role, they may attend meetings with clients, conduct preliminary industry and business analysis, or participate in marketing meetings. Alumni mentors and their colleagues will also invite students to join them as they conduct their usual business activities, offering a glimpse of the daily challenges, requirements and opportunities in investment and corporate banking.

We view the Shadow Program as an initial interviewing step for the BMO Capital Markets Development Program, a full-time position offered to college graduates who want to begin their careers at BMO Capital Markets.

Requirements

• Junior status
• Interest in investment and corporate banking
• Minimum GPA of 3.4 at a major school
• Minimum of two college finance and accounting classes with grades “B” or higher
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Superior problem-solving and analytic skills
• Demonstrated leadership in work, school or community
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
