BMO Capital Markets Launches Twitter Feed Provides timely information about the firm TORONTO, June 21, 2010 “People are always on the go, and social media tools are increasingly being used as a way to communicate and stay informed,” said Rick Kuwayti, Head of Marketing for BMO Capital Markets. "Twitter is another way for us to deliver information to our clients and other followers at precisely the moment they want it, wherever they might be.” Followers of the BMO Capital Markets Twitter feed will receive regular updates about the firm’s institutional investor conferences and events, new-hire announcements, awards, products, services, and upcoming appearances on news programs by BMO Capital Markets analysts and strategists. Most of the postings, commonly known as “tweets”, will link back to the BMO Capital Markets website (www.bmocm.com) where the full content can be viewed. The “tweets” can be viewed through Twitter’s web-based platform, or by using any third-party Twitter application for mobile devices. BMO Capital Markets is committed to providing innovative ways for its clients to stay in touch with the firm. Last year, the firm was one of the first to place two-dimensional (2D) barcodes in select versions of its weekly advertisements in the Money & Investing section of The Wall Street Journal. Using the camera on their mobile phone or PDA, readers of The Wall Street Journal were able to use a free application to photograph an ad’s barcode, which then launched the device’s browser, and linked directly to a customized page on the BMO Capital Markets website. “We are looking to Twitter as another form of social media that will further build on our capabilities for mobile platforms,” added Mr. Kuwayti. Recent statistics* reveal Twitter’s growth:
