BMO Capital Markets Recognized by the Financial Women’s Association

Eric Tripp, Co-President, BMO Capital Markets, receives an “Honorable MENtion Award” from the Financial Women’s Association at the organization’s Annual Dinner in New York on May 3rd. BMO Capital Markets has donated US$ 625,000 to the FWA over the last three years through our “Equity Through Education” initiative. With proceeds from “Equity Through Education”, the FWA has created the FWA BMO Capital Markets Scholarship Program at New York’s Baruch College, endowing undergraduate scholarships for academically promising students in connection with the FWA mentoring program at Baruch. "Equity Through Education” involves the donation by BMO Capital Markets of a single day’s commissions from our institutional equity trading business in Canada and the U.S.. This year’s trading day on May 2 raised CDN$ 1.7 million, which is divided between seven charitable organizations in North America. “Equity Through Education” was launched in 2005 to support the belief that gaining an education is a means of improving lives. Since then, a total of CDN$ 4.9 million/US$ 4.1 million has been raised. More than 1,300 individuals have benefited from the program’s first two years, through scholarships, bursaries, mentoring programs and job search strategy forums. |
