Brad is Managing Director and Group Head of the BMO Capital Markets Canadian Financial Institutions Group. He is responsible for leading the firm's transaction advice and capital raising services in the bank, insurance and asset management sectors. In addition to managing the activities of the Group, Brad is directly responsible for managing the firm's relationships with a number of financial services clients. Brad has over 17 years experience in the investment banking industry and his recent experience includes advising the TSX Group on its proposed $1.2 billion acquisition of Bourse de Montréal, as well as Great-West Lifeco’s $4.6 billion acquisition of Putnam Investment Trust. Prior to joining BMO Capital Markets in 1995, Brad worked for a number of years in London, England, working on mergers & acquisitions transactions while with an international accounting firm. John is a Managing Director in the BMO Capital Markets Canadian Financial Institutions Group. He is responsible for leading the group’s client coverage and providing advice on a wide range of both public and private transactions. The companies he advises are primarily in the property and casualty, life, reinsurance, insurance brokerage, mutual fund and finance markets, both in Canada and abroad. He has worked on a number of public transactions, including the Fairfax Financial sponsored IPO of Northbridge; the Great-West Lifeco acquisition of Putnam and the initial and subsequent Canadian public debt issues by Amex. Previously, John held a variety of positions with BMO Capital Markets working in the capital funding, structured/project finance and credit areas. Tom is a Director with the BMO Capital Markets Canadian Financial Institutions Group and has extensive experience in M&A, financing and valuation assignments in all areas of the financial services sector. Tom has advised on several transactions in the asset management sector, including Ethical Funds joint venture with Northwest Asset Management, Great-West Lifeco acquisition of Putnam Investments, Saxon Financial initial public offering, Credential Group corporate reorganization, First Asset initial public offering (pre-empted by M&A transaction), CI Financial acquisition of Spectrum Investments and Clarica Diversico, IGM Financial acquisition of Mackenzie Financial, Bank of Montreal acquisition of Guardian Group of Funds and Nova Bancorp acquisition of Strategic Value. In the insurance sector, Tom has advised on the sale of PennCorp Life to La Capitale, the hostile take-over defense for Canada Life and on M&A mandates for Allianz AG, Royal & SunAlliance plc, Aviva plc and Equisure Financial. Tom also led the initial public offerings of Northbridge Financial, Morneau Sobeco and Equitable Group. Prior to joining the firm, Tom practiced for several years as a lawyer with a major Canadian law firm. |
