Greg Pearlman

Greg is a Managing Director and Head of the Food & Consumer Group for BMO Capital Markets. He is a veteran investment banker, with 25 years of extensive deal experience in M&A, as well as equity and fixed income underwriting. Greg was previously a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley and spent 12 years at Salomon Brothers / Citigroup.

Greg has covered the consumer space most of his career, working on a variety of M&A transactions, equity and debt financings and corporate finance assignments. He has advised a variety of clients, including: Fortune Brands, Newell Rubbermaid, Kimberly-Clark, General Mills, Molson, PepsiAmericas, Smithfield Foods, Suntory, Bestfoods, Cadbury, Kellogg, Chiquita, Stanley Works, Mars, Corn Products, Procter & Gamble, Kraft, Sara Lee, Cargill, ADM, Swift Foods, FTD and Scotts Miracle-Gro.

Greg holds an MM in Finance and Management Policy from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan.

Noam Cohen

Noam is a Managing Director in the BMO Capital Markets Food & Consumer Group. He has more than 23 years of investment banking experience, 18 of them focused on the retail industry. Most recently, he was Managing Director at Berenson & Company and Head of its retail industry coverage efforts. Prior to joining Berenson, Noam was a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch and head of the firm’s hardlines retailing coverage efforts. He also held a retail industry leadership role as a Managing Director at Bank of America.

Noam earned his M.B.A and J.D from the University of Pennsylvania.

Alex Jacobs

Alex is a Managing Director in the BMO Capital Markets Food & Consumer Group. Alex worked in the Food & Beverage investment banking sector for Banc of America Securities for the last nine years and has also worked in the M&A group at PepsiCo, Inc.

Alex has an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a B.A. from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania.

John B. Phillips, Jr.

John Phillips is a Managing Director in the Food & Consumer Group and has over 20 years of investment banking experience across a myriad of consumer sectors. His breadth of transaction experience includes public and private capital financings (including high yield, convertible debt and preferred stock), initial public offerings, buy-side and sell-side advisory assignments and leverage buyouts. Prior to joining BMO Capital Markets, John served as a Managing Director at Bentley Securities where he was responsible for originating and executing capital raising transactions and advisory assignments for entrepreneurial consumer products, food and beverage clients, as well as selected financial sponsors. Previously, John was a Managing Director in PaineWebber’s Consumer Investment Banking Group and held various investment banking positions at Smith Barney, Oppenheimer and Drexel Burnham Lambert.

John earned an MBA in Finance with honors from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Colgate University.

Michael Taylor

Michael is a Managing Director in the Food & Consumer Group. He joined BMO Capital Markets in 2009 after spending fourteen years in investment banking with Bank of America. During his investment banking career, he has originated and worked on numerous M&A and capital raising transactions in the consumer products sector, with particular focus on the household, personal care and consumer durables subsectors.

Michael has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Colorado.

J. Todd Giles

Todd is a Director in the BMO Capital Markets Food & Consumer Group where he is responsible for providing investment banking services to the Agribusiness, Diversified and Protein sectors. Todd joined BMO Capital Markets and the Food & Consumer Group in 2005 after being an Associate with JP Morgan’s M&A Group. He began his career with Ernst and Young.

Todd earned a JD/MBA from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Morehouse College. He also holds the CPA designation.

Michael H. Johns

Michael is a Director within the BMO Capital Markets Food & Consumer Group, based in Chicago. With over 12 years of experience in corporate and investment banking, Michael concentrates on industry coverage for the North American food processing and retail sectors. Prior to joining BMO Capital Markets, Michael was a credit analyst with Credit Agricole Indosuez focused on commodity based food companies in both the United States and France.

Michael has a BS in Finance from the University of Illinois, an MBA from the University of Chicago GSB, and is a CFA Charterholder.

Caryn Greene

Caryn is a Vice President in the BMO Capital Markets Food & Consumer Group. Caryn has extensive transaction and strategic advisory experience within various sectors of the food industry including prepared foods, packaged foods, food ingredients, bakery and snack and agri-inputs. Additionally, she has experience executing business services, consumer products and diversified manufacturing transactions. Prior to joining the firm, Caryn was a Financial Analyst at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, D.C. analyzing several economic indicators and regulating foreign banks. She also worked in the Global Media Investment Banking Group at Merrill Lynch in New York.

Caryn has an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
