Forest Products Biographies
Jeff is Managing Director and Head of BMO Capital Markets' Diversified Industries and Forest Products groups. In addition to industrial, consumer and forest products, he spends considerable time focusing on private equity sponsors in Canada and has coordinated numerous M&A mandates and financings for an array of companies in both the public and private sectors. Jeff assumed responsibility for the Forest Products Group in 1998, after working with the M&A group at Burns Fry for seven years. Jeff joined Burns Fry, a predecessor firm to BMO Capital Markets, in 1991. Darryl is responsible for senior relationship management with several of the firm’s key media and communications clients, including Torstar, The Woodbridge Company, BCE and Astral Media. Since joining BMO Capital Markets, Darryl has been actively involved in advising clients on their financing and M&A transactions. Darryl also has overall responsibility for co-ordination of all BMO Capital Markets Investment & Corporate Banking activities in the province of Québec. Gary is a Managing Director in BMO Capital Markets’ Mergers & Acquisitions Group. He is responsible for advising clients regarding a wide range of public and private M&A initiatives, including: purchase and sale mandates, merger transactions, and valuations and fairness opinions. Gary has been involved in several notable transactions, including advising: Sxr Uranium One on its $3.6 billion acquisition of UrAsia; Yellow Pages Group on its $330 million acquisition of Aliant Directory Services from Bell Aliant; Bema Gold’s Special Committee on the sale of Bema to Kinross for $3.6 billion; Lonmin Plc on its $500 million acquisition of AfriOre; Canico Resource Corp on its defense and successful sale to CVRD for $941 million; TransCanada Corporation on the disposition of its interests in TransCanada Power LP to EPCOR for $529 million; Yellow Pages Group on its $2.5 billion acquisition of Advertising Directory Solutions from Bain Capital; and Canada Life in its successful defense of Manulife’s hostile bid which resulted in a $7.3 billion sale to Great-West Lifeco. Prior to joining BMO Capital Markets, Gary worked in an M&A advisory capacity with TD Securities in Toronto and New York, where he advised on a number of significant cross-border transactions. Before entering investment banking, he worked in both the management consulting and corporate finance practice areas of Ernst & Young. Gary joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2000. Brad is a Director in the BMO Capital Markets Diversified Industries Group, where he has significant experience advising companies on a wide array of M&A, equity and debt transactions in Canada, U.S., Europe and Asia. Brad worked at BMO Capital Markets from 1996 to 1998, then joined Citigroup’s investment banking department in London UK and Toronto, covering companies in the natural resource and industrial sectors. He rejoined BMO Capital Markets in 2005. Shahrokh is a Managing Director in the BMO Capital Markets Engineering & Construction and Forest Products Groups. He is responsible for leading a group dedicated to the marketing of advisory and financial services to U.S.-based companies across all segments of the engineering, construction and forest products industries. Previously, Shahrokh was involved in the structuring and arranging of project finance transactions and mergers and acquisitions for BMO's Global Project Finance Group. Those transactions involved companies across a variety of industries, including pipelines, oil & gas, mining and power. Prior to joining BMO, Shahrokh spent four years with Exxon in the project engineering and business analysis areas. He joined BMO Capital Markets in 1986. |
