U.S. Team

Susan Wolford

Susan is Managing Director and Group Head of the BMO Capital Markets Business Services & Media Group. Susan has been an investment banker for over 20 years, leading a wide variety of financing and merger and acquisition transactions across many industry groups. Prior to joining BMO Capital Markets in 2001, Susan worked at First Union where she co-headed its Educational Services Group. Previous to First Union, Susan spent 11 years in the Investment Banking Department of Kidder, Peabody where she was a Senior Vice President and Partner in the Media and Entertainment Group.

Susan has a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University where she was named an International Fellow, and a Bachelor of Arts with distinction from Villanova University. She has served on numerous boards and advisory councils of educational institutions and currently is a member of the Dean's Advisory Council of Villanova School of Business and the Investment Committee of the The Pennington School.

Andrew Buchholtz

Andy is a Managing Director in the BMO Capital Markets Media, Communications & Technology Group, where he focuses on the publishing and information services industries. His prior experience includes over 15 years as a banker, consultant and operator in the media industry, including over 10 years at Veronis Suhler Stevenson, where Andy served as Head of the magazine publishing, yellow page directory publishing, printing and direct marketing investment banking sectors. Additionally, he was a Limited Partner in Veronis Suhler Communications Partners II and Veronis Suhler Communications Partners III, the firm's private equity affiliates. Andy also previously served as Vice President of Operations for PRIMEDIA Special Interest Publications.

Andy holds an MBA in Management from Boston University. He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, also from Boston University.

Phillip Courten

Phil is a Managing Director in the BMO Capital Markets Media, Communications & Technology Group, where he focuses on digital media. During his 18-year career in investment banking, Phil has managed a wide variety of capital raising and strategic transactions for his clients, including: initial public offerings, follow-on offerings, syndicated loans, PIPEs, mergers & acquisitions, private placements, restructurings and principal investments. Before joining BMO Capital Markets, Phil was a Partner at New York private equity firm Capstone Partners. Previously, he was a Principal at Montgomery Securities in San Francisco and a Vice President in Morgan Stanley's Investment Banking Group in New York.

Phil has an MBA from New York University and a Bachelor of Science from Babson College.

Bryan Rolfe

Bryan is Managing Director and head of the Media, Communications & Technology Leveraged Finance Group. He is responsible for originating and structuring bank loan transactions for companies in the broadcasting, cable, publishing, telecommunications and technology leveraged sectors. Bryan joined BMO Capital Markets from WestLB Securities, where he served as Group Head and Managing Director of the Media, Entertainment and Telecommunications investment banking practice. From 1999-2005 he was with TD Securities (USA), where he was Managing Director responsible for the firm's origination and client relationship efforts for the Media and Communications Investment Banking Division. From 1988-1999, Bryan was with Chase Securities' Investment Banking Division, first as a member of Chase's M&A Advisory practice, then as a Relationship Manager within Global Financial Institutions, and subsequently as a product specialist for the Bank's Global Syndicated Finance activities.

Bryan received his Bachelor of Arts from Villanova University.

Scott R. Singer

Scott is a Managing Director in BMO Capital Markets Business Services & Media Group where he leads the firm’s efforts in broadcasting, cable and interactive entertainment. Prior to joining BMO Capital Markets in 2007, Scott accumulated 18 years of media and communications experience leading numerous, large, multi-faceted engagements for many of the premier companies in the industry. His experience includes advising on more than $35 billion of M&A transactions and raising over $75 billion of capital for his clients. From 2003 to 2007, he was a Partner at Deloitte and a leader of its U.S. Media & Entertainment practice, with a focus on corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance. Previously, Scott served as a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Department at Bear Stearns, where he was head of cable, interactive entertainment and digital media. He also held senior positions in the media and communications investment banking departments at Merrill Lynch and TD Securities.

Scott has an MBA in Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business and a BS in Business Administration from Bucknell University, where he has served as President of the Alumni Association and as an ex-officio member of its Board of Trustees. He has also served as Chairman of the Annual Fund for The Dalton School in New York City. Scott currently serves on the Board of Governors of The Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles. His forthcoming book, How To Hit A Curveball: The Nine Inning Approach to Confronting and Overcoming the Unexpected in Business, will be published by Portfolio, Penguin Group USA’s business imprint.

Naghmeh Hashemifard

Naghmeh is a Director in the BMO Capital Markets Media, Communications & Technology Group, where she structures and executes senior debt transactions, and manages a portfolio of loans. She has completed transactions in the publishing, broadcasting, outdoor advertising, telecom and cable sectors. Prior to joining the firm, Naghmeh was with Citibank, where she was involved with risk management for loan trading.

Naghmeh holds an MBA from The Stern School of Business at New York University and a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, also from New York University.

Mark Narbey

Mark is a Director in the BMO Capital Markets Leveraged Finance Group, where he focuses on the Media, Communications and Technology industries. His prior experience includes over 14 years as a banker, including over 10 years structuring and executing leveraged transactions within the media and telecommunications sectors. Prior to joining BMO Capital Markets, Mark held similar positions at both RBC Capital Markets and TD Securities (USA).

Mark holds an MBA from York University in Toronto, and a Bachelor of Arts from Queens University.

Seth Rosenfield

Seth is a Managing Director in the BMO Capital Markets Media, Communications & Technology Group, where he focuses on the publishing and information services industries. Previously, he spent eight years at Veronis Suhler Stevenson, where he was involved in both strategic advisory and financing transactions across a variety of media segments with specific emphasis on publishing and information. His prior experience also includes serving on the management team at the Scholastic SOHO Group and in senior financial positions at Simon & Schuster, a division of Viacom.

Seth earned an MBA in Marketing and Operations and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from New York University.

Gordon Wong

Gordon is a Vice President in BMO Capital Markets' Media, Communications & Technology Leveraged Finance Group, where he is responsible for origination, structuring and execution of leveraged financing in the sector. His prior experience includes over 13 years as a banker, including over nine years structuring and executing leveraged transactions for middle market companies in various sectors. Prior to joining BMO Capital Markets, Gordon was with Bank of New York Capital Markets.

Gordon holds an MBA from New York University, an MS from Polytechnic University, and a Bachelor of Engineering from the Cooper Union.
