Miles Redfield

Miles Redfield joined BMO Capital Markets in November 2009 to lead the BMO A&D Advisory group. He has more than 20 years of petroleum engineering, finance and A&D experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining BMO, Miles worked at Tristone Capital from 2004 to 2009 and was instrumental in leading technical and commercial teams in closing over $13 billion in deals. He was the transaction manager for corporate and asset deals in Appalachia, Rockies (Williston and Powder), Permian Basin, Anadarko Basin, East Texas, North Louisiana, South Texas, Gulf Coast and the Gulf of Mexico. Prior to Tristone, Miles founded and co-managed Wells Fargo Energy Advisors, closing over $550 million in transactions during his three-year tenure. He spent three years with GE Capital where he gained experience associated with oil and gas equity and debt financing. From 1990 to 1998, Miles acted as a senior member of BP Amoco''s A&D group, closing over $1.1 billion in transactions. Prior to receiving an MBA, he worked for Chevron USA and Kaiser Francis Oil Company in various petroleum engineering roles.

Miles holds an MBA in Finance from The University of Texas and a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Tulsa.

Ian van Staalduinen

Ian is responsible for the Acquisitions and Dispositions business for BMO Capital Markets and has more than 25 years of oil and gas related experience. Previously, Ian was a founding partner of Tristone Capital where he led the development of the A&D practice as it became the dominant A&D broker in Canada. He has been involved in more than 155 engagements with total sales exceeding $25 billion with a further $10 billion being evaluated for merger processes. Through this work he has gained intimate technical knowledge of practically every play type in Western Canada. Prior to joining Tristone, Ian ran his own consulting practice focusing on A&D evaluations and was COO for an oilfield data/technology company. Ian also worked for Canadian Hunter Exploration for 10 years where he helped discover significant gas reserves and deliverability.

Ian holds a BASc (Honours) Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. He has also been a registered Professional Engineer since 1987.
