Andre is Head of the BMO Capital Markets Global Mergers & Acquisitions group, which consists of over 60 professionals located primarily in Toronto and Chicago.
Andre has advised on numerous high profile M&A transactions, including: TMX Group on its pending $3.6 billion sale to Maple Acquisition Corp.; BMO Financial Group''s US$4.1 billion acquisition of Marshall & Isley; and Newmont Mining’s C$2.3 billion acquisition of Fronteer Gold.
Andre also advised on Rothmans’ $2.2 billion sale to Philip Morris, Meridian Gold’s $3.8 billion merger with Yamana Gold and Northern Orion Resources, Hudson’s Bay Company’s $1.5 billion sale to Maple Leaf Heritage Investment Acquisition Company and Wheaton River''s $2.6 billion acquisition of Goldcorp.
Andre joined BMO Capital Markets in 2004. Previously, he spent 12 years with two leading international investment banks and taught an MBA course on M&A at the University of Toronto for several years.
Andre holds an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business as well as a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Political Economy from the University of Toronto.
Daniel is Head of the BMO Capital Markets Canadian Mergers & Acquisitions group. He has extensive capital markets and M&A experience. Daniel’s recent assignments have included advising Canadian Tire on its $800 million acquisition of Forzani Group, Consolidated Thompson of its $5 billion sale to Cliffs, Woodbridge on its $3.2 billion sale of BellGlobeMedia, Value Creation on its $1 billion joint venture with BP plc, Goldcorp on its sale of Terrane Minerals, Tristar Energy on its $2.5 billion merger with Petrobakken, Progress Energy on its $3.0 billion merger with Proex, BP on its integrated oil sands and refining joint venture with Husky Energy, Canetic Energy Trust on its $5 billion sale to Penn West Energy Trust, Falcon Oil and Gas on its joint venture with Exxon in Hungary, TransAlta Power LP on its $600 million sale to Cheung Kong Infrastructure, Miramar Mining on its $1.5 billion sale to Newmont, Nelson Petroleum on its $2.0 billion sale to LUKOIL and EnCana on its $1.5 billion sale of its oil pipelines. Prior to joining BMO Capital Markets in 2003, he spent a combined 13 years in investment banking at Morgan Stanley, where he ran the Canadian Energy Group, and at Scotia Capital, where he ran the Power Group.
Daniel has an MBA from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Science with honours from the University of Alberta.
Lyle brings more than 25-years of investment banking experience as an M&A specialist across multiple sectors, advising clients on the full suite of M&A activities – including divestitures, restructurings and cross-border acquisitions. He joins BMO Capital Markets from Houlihan Lokey, where he was a Managing Director in their Global M&A group. Prior to that, he spent 14 years with Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML), where he headed their Middle Market M&A team. At BAML, Lyle previously ran the Corporate Sales & Divestiture group and was the head of healthcare M&A. Earlier in his career, Lyle worked at Credit Suisse First Boston, Lazard Freres and Wasserstein Perella.
Lyle earned an MBA from Harvard University and an undergraduate degree from Amherst College.
