Andre is Head of the BMO Capital Markets Global Mergers & Acquisitions group, which consists of over 60 professionals located primarily in Toronto and Chicago.
Andre has advised on numerous high profile M&A transactions, including: TMX Group on its pending $3.6 billion sale to Maple Acquisition Corp.; BMO Financial Group''s US$4.1 billion acquisition of Marshall & Isley; and Newmont Mining’s C$2.3 billion acquisition of Fronteer Gold.
Andre also advised on Rothmans’ $2.2 billion sale to Philip Morris, Meridian Gold’s $3.8 billion merger with Yamana Gold and Northern Orion Resources, Hudson’s Bay Company’s $1.5 billion sale to Maple Leaf Heritage Investment Acquisition Company and Wheaton River''s $2.6 billion acquisition of Goldcorp.
Andre joined BMO Capital Markets in 2004. Previously, he spent 12 years with two leading international investment banks and taught an MBA course on M&A at the University of Toronto for several years.
Andre holds an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business as well as a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Political Economy from the University of Toronto.
John is Head of the Canadian Mergers & Acquisitions group. In this role, he is responsible for the firm’s full-suite of M&A advisory services, which includes advising on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, buyouts, valuations and fairness opinions.
John joined BMO Capital Markets in 2003. Prior to joining BMO Capital Markets, John worked with other investment banks in Toronto and New York. He has over 15 years of M&A experience, including a wide range of public and private advisory mandates, with a focus on advising clients in resource industries.
John has been involved in many of the firm’s most significant M&A advisory mandates over the past several years, and has spent considerable time advancing BMO Capital Markets’ international M&A advisory business. He has advised on mandates involving North American, European, Asian and Latin American companies.
John holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia and an MBA with Honours from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
Beyond his professional commitments, John is a passionate supporter of SickKids Hospital and the United Way.
Lyle brings more than 25-years of investment banking experience as an M&A specialist across multiple sectors, advising clients on the full suite of M&A activities – including divestitures, restructurings and cross-border acquisitions. He joins BMO Capital Markets from Houlihan Lokey, where he was a Managing Director in their Global M&A group. Prior to that, he spent 14 years with Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML), where he headed their Middle Market M&A team. At BAML, Lyle previously ran the Corporate Sales & Divestiture group and was the head of healthcare M&A. Earlier in his career, Lyle worked at Credit Suisse First Boston, Lazard Freres and Wasserstein Perella.
Lyle earned an MBA from Harvard University and an undergraduate degree from Amherst College.
