Biography
Biography Andrew B. Busch Global Foreign Currency Strategist and Public Policy Strategist BMO Capital Markets Andy Busch is the Global Foreign Currency Strategist and Public Policy Strategist for BMO Capital Markets. Based in Chicago, he is a recognized expert on the world financial markets and how these markets are impacted by political events. In addition to his thought-provoking insights about trends in foreign currencies, Andy was recently appointed Public Policy Strategist. He will now provide clients with analysis on public policy issues in both the United States and Canada. Andy’s additional focus on public policy is of growing importance as the role of government has become more intertwined with the markets and the private sector. Andy is widely followed by clients and media for his daily commentaries and his frequent appearances on major financial news outlets, including CNBC, CBC and BNN where he is a regular contributor. His views appear daily in his newsletter, the Busch Update. On a regular basis, Andy consults with staff from the White House, the U.S. Department of the Treasury and Congress on economic and market issues. In 1990, Andy joined BMO’s Foreign Exchange Group in Chicago. Prior to that, he traded foreign exchange at Northern Trust Company. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in Economics from Ohio Wesleyan University and received a MBA from the University of Chicago. |
